Support Groups

Cancer Support GroupsFinding and receiving the best possible care for cancer is only part of the challenge for patients. Coping with the physical side effects, emotional uncertainties and financial implications on the family are just as important.

Below is a list of Support Groups that can help you and your family.

Look Good and Feel Better

Look Good…Feel Better is an ACS sponsored program dedicated to enhancing self-esteem and quality of life of woman with cancer. This workshop teaches beauty techniques to patients to help manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. The group is led by trained and certified beauty professionals that volunteer their time to create a sense of support, confidence, courage and community among individuals facing the challenges of cancer.

Meets quarterly at WellSpring Cancer Center. Check our Calendar to find the next meeting time.

Man to Man

Man to Man is a ACS Prostate Cancer Education and Support Program hosted at WellSpring Oncology.  This support group is led by trained facilitators (usually a prostate cancer survivor and a volunteer health professional). The goal of the small group sessions is to provide accurate, factual information to men and their partners about prostate cancer. It is also an opportunity to form new relationships and have an open exchange of common questions, concerns and feelings in a supportive environment.

Meets on the third Monday of each month at 7 pm. Check our Calendar to find the next meeting time.

Connections

Connections (To Share…To Care…To Listen) is a WellSpring Monthly Support group for cancer patients and their family and friends (or anyone touched by cancer). It is an open forum in a supportive environment where people can share their personal struggles, practical suggestions and everyday triumphs. At different times of the year there are guest speakers that share their expertise on cancer, coping, or healthy lifestyles. The group is facilitated by Dr. Frank Franzese and Sandy Reese, NP.
